PHYT 7208 Neuroscience II
This course follows Neuroscience I and discusses the visual, auditory, and vestibular systems, with an emphasis on understanding the neurological substrate for these systems, clinical assessment of these systems, and common signs, symptoms, and findings on examination when disorders in these systems are identified. The course includes neuroimaging techniques, especially CT scanning, MRI, MRA, PET, EEG, QEEG, and involves a discussion of higher cortical functions, neuropathology, and common neurological disorders that impact the physical therapist in a clinical setting. Attention is also given to the neurological examination, both as a didactic topic and in a hands-on manner.
