NUR 3305 Medical-Surgical Nursing Care II

This didactic course further explores professional nursing care for adult and older adult patients experiencing acute and/or chronic health alterations that require medical or surgical intervention and incorporates the utilization of information and healthcare technologies.

This course focuses on caring for patients with alterations in the following selected body functions: hematology, renal, reproductive, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and neurological systems, oncology care, emergency care, and disaster preparedness.

Prerequisite

These credits are required as it provides the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to build upon in subsequent nursing coursework and clinical experiences.

Corequisite

This clinical course must be taken concurrently with the associated didactic course to support the immediate application of theory, skills, and clinical reasoning in the supervised practice environment.
