NUR 3213 Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing Care Clinical

This clinical course focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and effective patient-centered nursing care for individuals with psychiatric and mental health disorders in various settings, including acute care facilities, community-based programs, and private practice, while promoting their autonomy, dignity, and quality of life.

The clinical component consists of direct patient care and observation under the supervision of a clinical instructor in patient care settings for individuals with psychiatric and mental health disorders in various settings. Clinical contact hours total 90 hours
