HIST 5354 Ancient Greece & Rome to 133 BC

(3-3-0) A study of ancient Greek and Roman history from the Mycenaean Age to the emergence of a Roman Empire. Emphasis will be placed on the social, political, religious, and intellectual development in the classical world from the early Helladic period of Greek history to the beginning of the Late Roman Republic. Attention will be given to the contributions of these cultures in the areas of government, scientific development, philosophy, religious thought, and the art of war.
