Studio Art, B.A. (ART)

The BA in studio art is a liberal arts based degree designed for students interested in studying a broad range of studio practices while also pursuing cross-disciplinary interests in a minor field of study outside of art. All students declaring a major in art are considered a pre-art major and are to be enrolled as BA Art major until they have successfully passed the foundation art sequence and foundation review (18 art credits) and core studio sequence and Core studio review (18 art credits). In their final semester of courses in foundations and then Core studio course sequences students will participate in department reviews of their portfolio and active participation and professional development in the art program to determine eligibility for the BFA studio art program with a specific concentration, or continue as a BA art major, or be required to change to an art minor.
