MUPC 1126 Advanced Diction Studies for Voice Students
This course provides a survey of the methods used to study pronunciation of the German and French language for singing purposes. “MUPC 1126 Diction II” is divided into two sections. The first is designed to familiarize the student with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) and how it relates to German singing. The second section will pertain to French usage. As singers, students will use IPA to transcribe songs that will be performed in class. There also will be a listening assignment that will be given for each section.
