PSYC 4312 Addiction and Recovery

An overview of biological, psychological, and social factors that influence addictions, including substance abuse and process addictions. This survey course covers topics including major drug categories such as prescription and over the counter medications, and behavioral/process addictions such as gambling and sexual addiction. Treatment options are also discussed, as well as the impact on the individual and their family. (If taken as SCWK, does not count in foundational curriculum.)
