MUTC 4231 Orchestration I
An exploration of the characteristics of band and orchestral instruments through score study. Emphasis is placed on idiomatic writing and knowledge of the timber of each instrument and combinations of instruments, and how these sounds are applied in symphonic scoring. Also includes scoring for various orchestral and band groups, with some emphasis on instruments with voices. There will be some performance in class or studio.
