KINE 3320 Coaching Team & Individual Sports
An in-depth study of coaching athletes in team and individual sports such as football, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, track/cross country, tennis, swimming, cycling, strength & conditioning, and power lifting. Principles may be applied to personal training or individual clients. Guest speakers will provide insight and experiences directly from the field. Designing training programs, planning practices, scheduling competitions, developing team cohesion, and mentally preparing athletes for competition will be addressed. Effective leadership principles and the development of a personal coaching philosophy are key components of this course. Projects and discussions will introduce issues regarding athlete development.
