KINE 1142 Social Dance

Social dancing offers students a fun exercise option with benefits in muscular toning, cardiovascular fitness, posture control, balance, and coordination while providing a knowledge base of dance fundamentals in various ballroom dances along with basic rhythms, dance positions, techniques of leading and following and maintaining frame in partner dancing.

The learner may experience, but not limited to, the rhythms of Merengue, Salsa, Cha cha, Rumba, Samba, Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, Charleston, Novelty, and Line dance. Students may also explore history, music, attire, cultural significance, and etiquette for dance covered in course.
