CMHC 6370 Internship

Students will engage in field-based clinical experience at an on-campus site (Psychology and Counseling Center) or off-campus site (public or private mental health organizations, agencies, or practices) as an experiential application and transition to professional clinically oriented settings. The goal is attainment of counseling competency equivalent to that of an entry level mental health professional (LPC Intern or LMFT Associate). Students will provide primary components of counseling practice under direct supervision of a site supervisor facilitated by a university instructor. Students will obtain 600 clock hours over the course of two terms; at least 240 must be direct client hours.
