CRIJ 3304 Forensic Interviewing

Forensic interviewing and interrogation techniques in the justice system are explored, including terrorism-related investigations and the use of coercive methods. Topics include cultural and age variability in interviewing, the use of the polygraph examination, and false confessions. A primary focus will be the legal and ethical issues surrounding forensic interviews and interrogations as well as the efficacy of specific techniques when considering social, behavioral, and linguistic perspectives.
