SURG 1201 Foundational Surgical Technology
This didactic course introduces foundational concepts of surgical technology and the perioperative environment. Content includes roles and responsibilities of the surgical technologist, surgical team communication, ethical and legal considerations, patient safety principles, basic surgical terminology, and introduction to perioperative workflow. Emphasis is placed on cognitive knowledge and professional behavior expectations in preparation for subsequent laboratory and clinical coursework.
