The HSU Institute for Leadership is a unique, value-added experience to provide students with opportunities to develop and enhance their leadership skills and competencies. Participants will enroll in a total of nine credit hours over their years at HSU, participate in a leadership internship during their junior year, and submit a reflective paper on their leadership experiences during their senior year. The only required course is LDSP 1301, "Foundations of Leadership."

During your undergraduate experience, two other courses may be chosen from the following:
LDSP 3099, Ethical Issues for Leaders
LDSP 3303, Great Leaders of History
LDSP 3306, Communication for Leaders

Admission Criteria

Application for admission to the HSU Institute for Leadership requires completion and submission of a formal application, approval by the Admissions Committee of the Institute, and a GPA of at least 3.0. Scholarships are available for this leadership experience, and scholarship support may be continued on a semester-to-semester basis for a maximum of four years as long as participants maintain a 3.0 GPA.
