Transcript Notations - Disciplinary Action

The university generally follows the guidelines for notations on transcripts promulgated by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). However, the university may vary from such standards as it deems necessary or as required by law.

For students ineligible to reenroll in Hardin-Simmons University for a non-academic or non-financial reason, including, but not limited to disciplinary actions, Texas law requires the university to include on the student's transcript a notation of the ineligibility. If a student withdraws from Hardin-Simmons prior to final resolution of a disciplinary process that may result in the student becoming ineligible to reenroll for a non-academic or non-financial reason, the university may not end the disciplinary process until it makes a final determination of whether the student will be ineligible to reenroll in the university for such a reason. If, as a result of that disciplinary process, the student is ineligible to reenroll in the university for a non-academic or non-financial reason, the university must include on the student's transcript a notation of such ineligibility.

Upon request by a student, Hardin-Simmons University may remove from a student's transcript the notation regarding ineligibility to reenroll if the student becomes eligible to reenroll in Hardin-Simmons University or if the university determines that good cause exists to remove the notation. See the Student Handbook for information on the relevant procedures.
