SOCI 4353 Race, Class, and Gender

The primary purpose of this course is to study how the intersections of race, class, and gender shape American society. The course begins with an examination of race, class, and gender as sociological concepts, with the purpose of using this framework to analyze and interpret contemporary issues and social problems. At the same time, the course introduces students to the experiences of diverse groups in the United States and shows how race, class, and gender together shape these experiences.
