MUCM 1301 Introduction to Worship Leadership

This course will provide a broad overview of Biblical worship music leadership from historical and current perspectives. Students will examine the roles and responsibilities of the worship leader, survey worship ministry vocations from varied Christian denominations, develop a personal philosophy and approach to ministry and leadership and develop an understanding of basic church administration models. Students will engage in discussion of these topics in class and in writing. This course also includes involvement with HSU chapel services where students will participate in the planning, rehearsals, and production elements as part of their total grade. This chapel element offers the students an opportunity to experience a wide variety of aspects involved in vocational worship leadership.
