ART 2382 Introduction to Photography & Film Production

An introductory course in digital photography and cinematic production, processing, and output. Various basic hardware/software operation and techniques will be covered. Pictures will be taken in a variety of environments, including the utilization of controlled lighting in a photo/video studio. Camera functions and usage, printing and screening, and composition development utilizing the elements and principles of design will be emphasized. Commercial, critical, and aesthetic approaches to photography and film making will be discussed.  A personal digital camera with video/audio capture is required, DSLR or Mirrorless camera systems are preferred. Some lab and material purchases will be required in order to complete projects.
