CRIJ 5312 Violence and Victimology
A study of violent behavior and the role of forensic victimology in the criminal justice system. Sociological and psychological perspectives help to create a coherent approach relating to violent crime (domestic abuse, sexual assault, child maltreatment, elder abuse, robbery, and homicide), patterns of violent offending, and the demographics of victimization as well as victim-offender relationships. This course focuses on the ways in which violence affects individuals and groups as well as an in-depth study of victims of violent crime.
