ENGL 4327 Studies in Southern Literature

Will focus on significant texts by Southern authors from nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty- first centuries. Issues such as Race, Religion, History, Politics, Traditions, Identity, Myth, Folklore, and Relationships may be discussed against a background of the South's complex and diverse culture. This course may range over many genres: poetry, short fiction, drama, autobiography, essay, and novels. Emphasis may vary each time the course is taught.
