MUHL 6241 Directed Independent Studies in, Music Literature.

Performance and stylistic analysis of works in all areas of the musical literature of the student's major performing medium. A broad review of the literature through performance, consideration of performance practices, musical forms, tonal resources, and sociological implications of the style will suggest an area as a subject for adocument on a particular area of literature. The document should exhibit a capacity for sound critical exaluation and should be supported by adequate research sources as well as theperformance of the music. This course isrequired of all graduate applied literature majors
