EDUC 5601 Interdisciplinary Strategies Ec-6

This course is designed to present instuctional strategies for the Early Childhood-Grade 6 program, with emphasis on social studies methods. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), pedagogy, selection or curricular goals and objectives, and assessment of learning will be examined. Attention will be given to designing coherent, relevant and meaningful instructionwhile learning to continually monitor instructional effectiveness. Basic principles and procedures of classroom management including grouporganization, discipline, and high quality feedback will be studied and applied in a field setting. This course should be taken the semester before student teaching or with instructor permission. 6 hours of field experience are included. Additional assignments will be required to receive graduate credit. Prerequistes: COHD 6325,6315, EDUC 3338. Fall, Spring.
