PA 6310 Physiology & Pathophysiology I

PA 6310 Physiology & Pathophysiology I 3 credits. This course is the first course of a three-semester sequence in which the student will build upon information learned in the basic physiology prerequisite courses. General review of physiologic concepts and systems will be undertaken. Class sessions will focus on an in-depth look at human physiology with an emphasis on cellular and subcellular mechanisms of normal and abnormal function including medical genetics. Information will be provided as to clinical application of anatomic and physiologic variations from normal and the means by which these variations can contribute to disease. Clinical chemistry principles, ordering, and interpretation of diagnostic tests, procedures, and correlations will be discussed to provide information for appropriate clinical application.
