CRIJ 5330 Servant Leadership in the Justice System

Contemporary challenges for leaders in the justice system necessitate a servant-based mindset which prioritizes mission focus and the crucial role of teams within organizations. This course will critically analyze servant leadership theory using the conceptual framework of accountability, personal humility, mission prioritization, and team focused decision-making processes. Various justice system challenges will be utilized, and the servant leadership theory and framework applied. Best practices and ethical topics related to servant leadership principles and subsequent management decisions in the justice system will be critically examined.
